Cuatro Cienegas : a Unique Ecosystem Under Threat

NASA's Curiosity mission on Mars could find what the whole scientific community is waiting for: signs of life -past or present- from the Red Planet which could even help us understand the origins of life. But back on Earth, there is already an open laboratory for such research. Cuatro Cienegas is a small humid area in the desert of Northern Mexico where organisms are perhaps the most primitive on Earth. The place is a treasure chest for scientists, it's also a fragile and endangered ecosystem.
