Economic patriotism and the suitors of business barons

Among the French papers covering the Prime Minister as he spoke to business leaders, La Croix recalls that Jean-Ayrault believes "in patriotism and in the public interest that you all share in." Though many French businessmen run multinational companies, La Croix says it's time to remind them where they were educated and groomed to become the successes they are. 

L'Humanité is suspicious that the 10-minister delegation that attended the Medef conference of business leaders signalled rather too much enthusiasm, and banking barons profiting from the current crisis won't likely warm to words of economic patriotism. 

Le Figaro, on the other hand, is underwhelmed by government vagueness concerning business, saying it has failed to spell out what it plans to change in terms of the cost of hiring, labour flexibility and tax levels. 

Finally, there is a grim picture in Le Monde of the isolated elderly French who are more likely to commit suicide as they age beyond 65 years old.
