Pope Benedict XVI visits Lebanese Christians

It's uncertain whether Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Lebanon will succeed in reassuring Lebanese Christians about their future. Many see Bashar al-Assad as the protector of Syria's minorities - the Alawites, the Christians and the Druze - in the face of a Sunni majority. But all recall the suffering of Christians in Egypt and Iraq and fear for the fate of the region's Christians if Assad goes.
