President Hollande promises to revamp energy sector

French president François Hollande has promised to make major changes to the energy industry during his term of office. At a conference on Friday, the Socialist said he would bring forward the closure of France's oldest nuclear reactor in Fessenheim and cut the level of nuclear energy that goes to make up the country's power supply. Environmentalists have welcomed the plans, which will also get the wind and solar power industries back on their feet - but how does Hollande intend to pay for it?
