Hollande and the 'Karcher moment' that wasn't

François Hollande says his style is the opposite of Nicolas Sarkozy's... Yet the media couldn't help drawing comparisons with his predecessor’s style as Hollande visited a troubled suburb following a double shooting. In 2005 as Interior Minister, Sarkozy famously promised a resident that he'd clean the neighbourhood of its "scum". So how did Hollande deal with a similar moment?
