Terrorism: a homegrown threat?

Is there a mounting home-grown terrorist threat in France? This is the question rankling officials after the police gunned down a Frenchman suspected of throwing a grenade into a Jewish grocery store several weeks ago. A dozen alleged accomplices have since been arrested and bomb components discovered in a search by police, alongside a list of Jewish institutions that could be targets.

No need for allies to govern but no excuses for failure. On the other side of the political aisle, after a stinging defeat, the conservatives need to regroup and refresh after 10 years in power.
