Abortion laws under spotlight in Ireland

Over 2,000 people have demonstrated in front of the Irish Parliament to protest against anti-abortion laws. This comes after a 31-year-old woman died having been refused an abortion. Savita Halappanavar was admitted to a hospital in Galway late last month with severe back pain, was revealed to be miscarrying, but doctors repeatedly refused to abort the foetus.
