Thirty years at the top for Paul Biya - and no sign of stopping

This month marks the 30th anniversary of Cameroonian President Paul Biya’s rise to power. While his supporters claim Biya has brought the country stability and peace, many of their countrymen disagree. Around 70% of young workers are stuck in low-income jobs, while formal employment has represented less than 10% of the labour force since the 1990s. Biya is 79 years old and yet there isn’t an obvious candidate to replace him at the helm.

Investigating paedophilia scandals in Poland's Catholic Church

Paedophilia scandals have rocked the Catholic Church across the world in recent years. Yet Poland, the most Catholic country in Europe, appeared to have been largely spared. Finishing Rio's Maracana Stadium: a race against time

With only one month to go before the Confederations Cup, Rio’s Maracana stadium is still not finished. A more rigorous test set for May 15 was cancelled, giving more time to get everything right for the friendly between Brazil and England on June 2nd.

The Turkish government was quick to blame Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria, this as Syrian refugees in Reyhanli have become the target of abuse from some local residents. France 24 went to Reyhanli to find out more about the situation on the ground.

China's latest food scandal

A month after 10,000 dead pigs were found floating in a river near Shanghai, 900 people were arrested for selling rat, fox and mink meat as lamb. These, just the latest of a string of food scandals in China, are adding to concerns about the country's food supply chain. Some Chinese are starting to take matters into their own hands, and there are solutions out there for every budget.
