Famed as the architect of Brasilia, Oscar Niemeyer built over 600 buildings worldwide, including the United Nations headquarters in New York and the French Communist Party HQ in Paris. His Communist Party membership forced him into exile for 21 years during Brazil's military dictatorship. Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has paid tribute to Niemeyer, citing his famous words, "without dreaming, we would not make things happen" and saying that Niemeyer dreamed and achieved more than most.
It’s a scene Turkish activist Sehbal Senyurt has grown accustomed to witnessing.
