Barnabé Hardy

Paris, rue Beaubourg, the studio of Barnabé Hardy. A designer for the past 15 years, he’s part of the new wave bringing credibility and viability to men’s fashion. It’s modern, creative and wearable.

His passion for fashion began when he was young. Today, Barnabé Hardy is a freelance consultant, a professor at l’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture and has been running his own business since 2009. He learned his craft from the best: Martin Margiela, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, and Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga.

Barnabé works principally with skins. Economically effective, not one metre of raw material goes to waste. And his reactivity is a source of inspiration.

The brand is known for its natural-looking tears. The personal shoppers of the rich and famous are quick to grab his jackets off the racks of multi-brand boutiques that sell his designs all over the world. Barnabé Hardy dresses stars of all kinds... from the LA scene and singers like Ne-Yo to the towering physics of NBA basketball players like Amare Stoudemire.

The high-end, luxurious models are made here in France. For the mass market they are made in Asia and sold by online retailer 3 Suisses. It’s the mainstream diffusion that’s given the brand its notoriety.

Men’s fashion is slowly evolving. It's a good thing there's Barnabé Hardy, mastering high-end French know-how on the international stage.
