His passion for fashion began when he was young. Today, Barnabé Hardy is a freelance consultant, a professor at l’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture and has been running his own business since 2009. He learned his craft from the best: Martin Margiela, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, and Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga.
Barnabé works principally with skins. Economically effective, not one metre of raw material goes to waste. And his reactivity is a source of inspiration.
The brand is known for its natural-looking tears. The personal shoppers of the rich and famous are quick to grab his jackets off the racks of multi-brand boutiques that sell his designs all over the world. The high-end, luxurious models are made here in France. For the mass market they are made in Asia and sold by online retailer 3 Suisses. It’s the mainstream diffusion that’s given the brand its notoriety.
