Georgia's parliamentary elections in October were historic: the country was widely praised for ensuring the first ever peaceful transition of power since independence two decades ago. But now that democratic achievement could be under threat: over 20 high-ranking officials connected to the ousted government have been arrested and accused of violence, corruption or illegal wire-tapping.
