Fighting hate speech on Twitter: is France showing the way?

Last week, France's Minister of Women's Rights put hate speech on Twitter centre stage, saying the social network should help France apply pre-existing laws banning racist, sexist and homophobic comments. Writing in The Guardian, Jason Farago says "we should follow France's example in restricting bigotry's free expression". Others say this would amount to a dangerous limitation on free speech. Also, an artist refuses the Legion of Honour and one French woman's awful New Year.
