'Baby boxes' to be banned in Germany

Germany's so-called "baby boxes" or "hatches" have provoked debate ever since they were first introduced 14 years ago. They're attached to hospitals and care centres, and new mothers can leave their child in them anonymously, knowing that their baby will be cared for and eventually adopted. But now the German government is now planning legislation that will see the end of such facilities, believing that a child has a right to know its true parentage.
