Story 1: Chad

We start with footage showing guests at the wedding of the Chadian President’s son being showered with money. The wedding took place in 2011, but the images only recently surfaced on the internet. We spoke to one of the many shocked web users in Chad, a central African country blighted by poverty. 

Story 2: Bahrain

Video footage of police violence in Bahrain abounds online, but a recent video whipped up a storm of protests in the kingdom. The footage did not show protesters being harassed by the police; rather, it showed a man being hit by a policeman in front of his young son during a routine identity check. 

Story 3: World

We end with a weekly roundup of images and stories sent in by our Observers.

A France 24 Observer in Libya sent us images of security forces torturing prisoners, whom they suspect to be former Gaddafi supporters. The prisoners had not been tried. Our Observer says Libyans did not fight for injustice like this during the revolution.

We also speak to an Observer who told us about a bizarre battle that takes places in his hometown every Christmas.
