US drones kill insurgent leader Mullah Nazir, but at what cost?
The US has long been criticised for its use of drones over Pakistan. The unmanned aircraft are operated 12,000 km away and hunt down insurgents in mountainous terrain near the Afghan border. While they have killed Taliban fighters, they've also caused the deaths of civilians and children, stoking anti-American feeling. The situation is being made worse by their targeting people regardless of Islamabad's relationship with them - such as the recently killed insurgent leader Mullah Nazir.
