Agriculture industry faces new crisis with another labourers' strike
Farm workers are on strike once again in South Africa, after a protest at the end of last year that left two people dead and caused 13 million euros' worth of damage. Employees are demanding that their wages be doubled, complaining that it's not possible to live on their current salary of €35 a week. The financial crisis and mechanisation are also taking their toll on jobs, with 700,000 farm labourers feeling the pinch.
