Awindra Pandey is the friend of New Delhi gang-rape victim Jyoti Singh. He tried in vain to protect her from her attackers. With his leg broken, he speaks to FRANCE 24 about the brutality of the attack and how passer-bys remained indifferent. Pandey calls on Indian society to react very strongly to such cases of violence against women.

India should be ashamed of dragging Jyoti's rape case, when the killers and rapists are caught. How can three are not guilty and if Jyoti was not unconscious, they would have kept her for some more time. Helping rape is as same as raping.
