Cameron's EU referendum: playing with fire?

Last week, David Cameron pledged to hold a referendum on EU membership if the Conservatives win the next election. The announcement caused a storm across the EU, with several leaders warning there will be no "cherry-picking" or "à la carte" deal for the UK. The British Prime Minister has long been under pressure from the Eurosceptic wing of his party, but is he playing with fire or is a vote necessary to clarify the debate?

With our guests:

  • Charles Tannock, British MEP, European Conservatives and Reformists;
  • Catherine Trautmann, French MEP, Socialists and Democrats.

Programme produced by Salima Belhadj
