The European Union can support the peace process Ankara has started on the Kurdish issue by expressing support for bringing Turkey into the 27-nation bloc, according to Cem Özdemir, a German politician of Turkish descent.

The best support the European Union can give to the peace process Ankara has started on the Kurdish problem is to express that Europeans are serious in bringing Turkey into the 27-nation bloc, according to Cem Özdemir, a German politician of Turkish descent. EU membership provides a permanent resolution toward both ethnic and religious frictions in Turkey, said Özdemir, co-chair of Germany's Green Party.

he has no understanding of the conflict.
he is neither turk nor kurd, despite the fact that his family is originally from turkey (he is of circassian descent)
so, to give a judgement in his position is quite daring.
moreover, to claim that turkey's membership might help the cause is completely fabricated and lacks knowledge of all historical and cultural (and even political) parameters.
either he is illusionary or deliberately deceptive.
