Bahrain: still waiting for a revolution

At the height of the Arab Spring in February 2011, protesters in Bahrain gathered at the iconic Pearl Roundabout in the capital Manama to demand reforms. The demonstrations ended violently: police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters. Two years on, unrest continues and the authorities stand accused of gross human rights violations. Amnesty International says so-called "prisoners of conscience" are suffering torture at the hands of security forces.
