A Suicide in the Cathedral

French dailies are dominated by the European summit in Brussels, where leaders are pushing to clamp down on tax havens. The suicide of a man in Paris's Notre Dame Cathedral sparks the admiration of far-right politicians. And Algerians are still left wondering about the state of president Bouteflika’s health, as well as his whereabouts.

Le Figaro applauds the move to address the issue of tax evasion, pointing out just who’s affected and how much.

Libération takes a look at the debate from a moral standpoint, evoking the conscience of European governments. And Rue89 suggests that tax dodgers be given incentives to pay back what they owe.

The suicide of a 78 year-old man in Paris's Notre Dame Cathedral is covered in Le Parisien, while the Huffington Post takes a look at his fascist links in the past.

Finally, with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on the road to recovery in Paris - that's according to government sources - Le Parisien asks Algerians in France what they think.
