World number one Serena Williams has defeated Maria Sharapova of Russia (6-4, 6-4) to pick up her second French Open title, more than a decade after her last victory on the Paris clay. Follow all the action as it happened on our liveblog.

Serena Williams beat old rival Maria Sharapova in the final of the French Open on Saturday, becoming the oldest player to win the Roland Garros title since the game turned professional in 1968.
