Internal Socialist Strife over Roma people

France's governing Socialists continue to weather the fall-out from Interior Minister Manuel Valls' inflammatory remarks about the Roma people, as party grandees worry it could create damaging factions.

Socialst ministers continue to speak out against Interior Minister Manuel Valls for telling the Roma to return to Bulgaria and Romania, and Aujourd'hui en France runs an interview with former presidential candidate Ségolène Royal, who worries about open party bickering.

Le Figaro indulges in a bit of hyperbole, noting the issue is "ripping the party apart."

Liberation wonders where the French President is in all of this, saying François Hollande should be setting the record straight on Roma policy, rather than allowing ministers to convey differing messages.
