A sheep farmer and Roquefort cheese producer-turned-MEP, José Bové rose to global fame 15 years ago after he demolished a half-built McDonalds in the French town of Millau. The action was the culmination of a lifetime of protest against what he calls the evil of globalisation. But is Bové really a modern-day Asterix?
