Githu Muigai, Kenya's Attorney-General

Kenya’s attorney-general Githu Muigai provides some key details into the Westgate mall attack: there were no more than 5 gunmen, all of whom were killed, a dozen accomplices are under arrest and the plot was likely hatched at a refugee camp. He also promises that a commission of inquiry will soon be set up to look into all aspects of the case, after Kenyan security forces were caught on CCTV apparently looting the mall during the attack.

On the ICC, Githu Muigai claims the decision to oblige Vice-President Ruto to attend most of his trial is counterproductive and warns that Kenya will keep all its options open, including withdrawing from the ICC, if no compromise is found. Both William Ruto and President Kenyatta are accused of orchestrating violence after the disputed 2007 presidential election.
