Diwali, a five-day festival also known as the Festival of Lights, is being celebrated by Hindu, Sikh and Jain communities around the world. FRANCE 24 went to find out how the holiday is being marked in the French capital.


It is a time for good food, gifts and spending time with friends and family. Diwali, a five-day festival also known as the Festival of Lights, is being celebrated by Hindu, Sikh and Jain communities around the world.

Most of the festivities take place on the third day, when worshippers light small candles in their homes and temples.
