Another racist image of Christiane Taubira on Facebook

The French Justice Minister is the target of another incident of Facebook racism, it emerged today. The French-Carribean politician was depicted as the face of "Banania" - a brand criticised in the past for its simplistic, stereotypical depiction of Africans. The UMP local politician who shared the post has been suspended. The UN has criticised a recent spate of racist insults targeting Taubira, most notably the cover of far-right magazine "Minute" which likened her to a monkey.
