Afghanistan: The Endless War? (part 2)

As elders in Kabul vote on letting 15,000 US-led troops stay on for another decade, France 24 brings you an exclusive report from Kapisa province, where one year after the French forces pulled out, the Taliban are emboldened. Government forces in the region seem ill at ease, whilst many schools and hospitals have closed. Is the return of the Taliban inevitable, or, 12 years on, are we witnessing an endless war?

  • Peter GALBRAITH, Former UN Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan;
    Senior Fellow, The Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation;
  • Fahimeh ROBIOLLE, Conflict management consultant and scholar;
  • Leela JACINTO, France 24 journalist;
  • Ahmed RASHID, Best-selling author and journalist.
