ENCORE!

How do artists and writers see the world? We take you to the crossroads where culture meets the news and engages with what's happening in our lives today. From Monday to Friday at 12.15 pm Paris time.

Syrian artists in exile

As the civil war in Syria continues, we meet some of the artists trying to carry on with their work in spite of the conflict raging around them. Our studio guest Jalal Maghout is a video artist from Damascus who is in Paris for the city's animation festival. He tells Catherine Nicholson how he's managed to keep working, and how he represents the conflict in his work.

Also on the show: we find out more about the 23-year-old woman from Massachussetts who has made it to the finals of the "Arabs Got Talent” TV show in Lebanon.

And we’re also reporting on the return to the big screen of two of France’s favourite film stars, “Amélie” actress Audrey Tautou, and Romain Duris from “Heartbreakers”. They star as on-off lovers in the new release “Casse-tête Chinois”.
