Bang-up-to-date ballet with Alonzo King

Alonzo King has been called a "master of ballet" and a "reformer of classics". He joins Catherine Nicholson in the Encore! studio as he brings his San Francisco-based company to Paris for the first time.

He explains how his approach is based on the same principles as a classic Swan Lake or Nutcracker – and how he brings it bang up to date with light installations and musical fusions.

Alonzo also tells us about his experience working with movie stars including the late Patrick Swayze, and why he feels the Dirty Dancing star was always a classical dancer at heart.
