'Quenelle' arm gesture causes outrage

Could a simple arm gesture become illegal? That's what one French MP is hoping after a series of prominent sports stars including footballer Nicolas Anelka publicly reproduced the "quenelle". The gesture was invented by controversial comedian Dieudonné and is arguably anti-Semitic. It has certainly been used to those ends by individuals who have reproduced the "quenelle" on the front of Holocaust memorials, publishing the image online. We take a look at the controversy and its origins.
