When he ran in 2012, Socialist François Hollande promised to be a "normal" president, that is, different from his hyperactive Conservative predecessor Nicolas Sarkozy. What they now have in common is a penchant for suing publications that delve into their personal lives. Hollande is now considering legal action after gossip magazine Closer revealed the 59-year old Hollande's night-time jaunts out to secretly visit 42-year old film actress Julie Gayet.
