Que Syrah Syrah: Chinese overtake French as top red wine drinkers

China has overtaken France as the world's biggest consumer of red wine, according to a study from the wine and spirits association VinExpo. Their research found that Chinese consumers bought nearly 1.9 billion bottles last year, knocking France into second place and Italy into third.
