Sarkozy wiretap scandal: a political vandetta?

Nicolas Sarkozy is in the eye of the storm. In recent days, the former president first learned that one of his closest aides during his mandate had secretly taped their conversations; private chats that were leaked to the press. He then learned that judges had wiretapped his conversations with his lawyer, prompting furious accusations that the ruling Socialists, starting with President François Hollande, were out to get him and prevent him from making a much-anticipated political comeback.
