José Bové, Candidate for the EU Commission presidency, Group of the Greens

In the run-up to the European elections, Talking Europe brings you a series of interviews with the top candidates for the EU Commission presidency. José Bové was chosen by the European Green Party to campaign for his party across Europe. A sheep farmer and Roquefort cheese producer-turned-MEP, Bové rose to global fame 15 years ago after he demolished a half-built McDonalds in the French town of Millau. The Green MP warns the crisis should be no excuse for backtracking on environmental policies.
