Mali: Anti-French demonstrations in Bamako

Mali's government has called for an immediate ceasefire with Tuareg separatist rebels in the north after armed groups there claimed to have wrested control of more towns in an escalating showdown with the army. MNLA fighters say they have also seized several other towns including Menaka and Tessalit.
