Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania

Edi Rama, a painter, politician and former mayor of Tirana, became Prime minister of Albania in September of last year. He has just met French President François Hollande here in Paris at a crucial moment for his country. At the end of the month, EU leaders will meet in Brussels to decide whether Albania can receive "candidate status", the first step towards EU membership.
