For two weeks, photography fills the streets of Perpignan and takes pride of place inside cafés, shops and hairdressers. Alongside the official selection, the "Off" or fringe festival gives budding photographers a chance to show off their work.

We met Karolina Samborska, whose work on daily life in Afghanistan was singled out by the jury for its exceptional quality.
