South African theatre director Brett Bailey is the brainchild behind "Exhibit B", a provocative performance installation in which silent black actors recreate scenes from the days of colonial enslavement. Protesters have called Bailey’s work racist and degrading. They had it shut down in London and want to do the same here in Paris. Bailey tells FRANCE 24’s Douglas Herbert why he thinks they’re misunderstanding his objective, which is to denounce racism and dehumanisation, then and now.
