Protesters, armed with firebombs, have been advancing upon police lines this Thursday in Ukraine's embattled capital. Government snipers have been shooting back, killing at least 70 people and wounding hundreds, according to a protest doctor. Meanwhile European Union foreign ministers have agreed to impose sanctions on Ukraine, including visa bans, asset freezes and restrictions on the export of anti-riot equipment. But will sanctions be enough to halt the violence?
