Ukraine, The Escalation: Is There No Stopping Putin?

Ten days ago, we were wondering if the mysterious masked men popping up everywhere in eastern Ukraine signalled a repeat of Crimea, where the seamless takeover by Russia proved irresistible. Now it's clear that history is not exactly repeating itself. In eastern Ukraine, blood has been shed, with the population more divided, and the outcome more uncertain, than in recent weeks. Is the Geneva agreement of one week ago simply a distant memory?
