Ukraine, The Escalation: Violence Spreads in the East (part 2)

This Monday the once pro-Russian, now pro-Kiev, mayor of Ukraine's second-largest city Kharkiv is in serious condition after being shot in the back by an unidentified would-be assassin. On Sunday, the self-proclaimed mayor of Sloviansk displayed blindfolded men who he claims are Ukrainian special forces and staged a press conference with OSCE observers, who have been his captives since Friday. How will the West react in what's fast becoming a proxy standoff in a new Cold War?
