Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears poised to begin a third consecutive term after general elections in Israel. FRANCE 24’s Gallagher Fenwick says intense negotiations for key ministries in a future Netanyahu government are already underway.

Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party pulled off a surprising 30 seats in Tuesday’s poll, but the embattled leader must now form a coalition with other members of the Knesset to secure the post of prime minister.

Fenwick said his rivals in the general election now want key ministries in exchange for joining Netanyahu's next government.
