Women on the refugee trail: Tales of desperation and hope

In this special edition, as Europe confronts its worst refugee crisis since World War Two, The 51 Percent focuses on the plight of women who are risking their lives on dangerous treks across the continent.

Our team meets some of those making that treacherous journey. We also talk to an UN official on the perils that they face along the way.

Plus, our reporters visit “The Jungle” - the tent city that's sprung up near the French town of Calais and home to scores of refugees, including an increasing number of women.
