Saudi journalist Bdeir fights for women’s rights

Nadine Bdeir, a Saudi journalist and intellectual, is fighting to change mentalities and improve women’s rights in her country. In Saudi Arabia, women must be covered from head to toe, are not allowed to drive and must have a male legal guardian. Despite these odds, this feminist hosts a weekly liberal TV show. It is aired in Saudi Arabia, but has to be recorded in the United Arab Emirates, where she now lives in exile.

A programme prepared by Patrick Lovett, Aline Schmidt and Claire Pryde.
