As relations between the United States and Cuba warm, many people are taking advantage of eased travel restrictions. FRANCE 24 correspondent Philip Crowther hopped on a direct flight from Miami to Havana to join a few of the new travellers.

Historic obstacles between US and Cuba are falling since the two countries decided to normalise ties.

There’s already been a sharp rise in American visitors after US President Barack Obama eased travel restrictions.

Soon, President Barak Obama himself will be flying to Cuba for the first visit to the country by an American president since 1928.

"Every other country, Cuba gets along with," one US traveller told FRANCE 24. "We've got to work our way in to get that door open a little wider."
