Uhuru Kenyatta speaks to FRANCE 24

Uhuru Kenyatta speaks to FRANCE 24 and maintains his call for a pullout from the ICC. In Chad, 14 candidates are battling for the presidency. And Cape Verde singer Elida Almeida starts her tour of the continent.

Kenya’s president reacts to the collapse of the ICC's case against his deputy. Uhuru Kenyatta also saw similar crimes against humanity charges against himself dropped in 2014 and he remains frustrated with the Hague court.

Also, Chad is gearing up for Sunday's polls in which President Idriss Deby is hoping to extend his 26-year rule. He’s had to push harder than expected on his campaign as his critics have been unusually vocal.

And we hear from Cape Verdean singer Elida Almeida. She's set to start a tour of Africa after having won the discoveries award from FRANCE 24's sister radio station RFI.
