Riek Machar still hasn't arrived in Juba

In tonight's bulletin: The wait continues as Riek Machar still hasn't arrived in Juba; in Uganda, the country’s only radiotherapy machine has broken down; and in Kinshasa, shopkeepers and customers are struggling with rising prices of household staples.

The wait continues for South Sudanese rebel leader Riek Machar who still hasn't arrived in Juba in order to kick-start a crucial phase of the peace process. His camp says it is because it is first waiting for a top general’s flight to get clearance.

Also, a Kenyan hospital offers a lifeline to hundreds of Ugandan cancer patients who face uncertainty after Uganda’s only radiotherapy machine broke down. The device went out of order earlier this month and the government has been accused of neglecting the health system.

Finally, the Congolese government has tried to shore up the franc after it slid against the dollar. But the efforts haven't been able to prevent shopkeepers and customers from struggling with the rising prices of household staples.
