EU-Canada trade: Deal or no deal?

A trade deal between the EU and Canada was agreed back in 2014. But this week the European Commission decided it needed to be ratified not just by EU institutions in Brussels but also by national parliaments. With a number of EU countries voicing objections, the agreement, for which negotiations began in 2009, could now never come into play.
